Stableford

Saturday at Yea saw two Stableford competitions played in favourable conditions, with all players finishing before late rain swept through the course. The overcast skies were occasionally broken by patches of sunshine, making for an enjoyable day of golf.

In the men’s competition, Greg Clements (17) delivered an outstanding performance to win with 41 points. Robert O’Halloran (21) continued his consistent form to finish second with 38 points, while Phil Armstrong (18) was close behind in third on 37. Bob Glenister (11) claimed fourth place on a countback with 35 points. Nearest the pin on the 10th went to Jim Redmond, and Jono Ness secured the Club Award.

The ladies’ event saw Margie Wright (20) take out top honours with 33 points, edging out Jan Wealands (25), who finished second with 32 points.

In knockout match play, Bob Glenister recorded a win over John Phillips in their second-round encounter.

Wednesday’s golf saw Phil Armstrong(18) secure a win with 38 points from Rob O’Halloran(21) with 34 points second with John Phillips(17) third with 33 CB. No NTP on the 18th and John Renehan won the Club Award.
