Well winter has arrived with conditions on the course proving much harder. The cold and recent rain affected all golfers with scores difficult to attain. Best of the 16 men who played was Peter Johnston(15) with 33 points, from Phil Armstrong(18) with 32. Third was Michael Spagnolo(9)with 31 on CB from Brian Simmons(12) fourth. Rick Wills was NTP on the 18th and Curtis Westworth took out the Club Award. Brian Simmons, Mic Spagnolo, Michael Sheather and John Phillips all won their first round matches in the Club Knockout and progress to round 2 to be played by the end of June.
The Ladies Stableford was won by Di Elliott(28) on CB from Cindy Armstrong(28) with 31 points. On Wednesday the ladies played a stableford round for the Margaret Samblebe Brooch. Winner on 30 points was a delighted Cindy Armstrong(28) from second Sharon Grogan(21) with 29 points.
Wednesday also saw the men play a “4 Stick” event with 20 players. Winner with 34 points on CB was Gavin Houldcroft(32) from second Bob Glenister(11). Tony Rule(15) with 32 was third and Luke Gregory(8) fourth with 31 points. Rob O’Halloran was NTP on the 14th and Martin Lowe won the Club Award. Luke Gregory, Tony Rule and Bob Glenister won their first round Knockout matches.
