Thirty golfers ventured out on Royal Yea on Saturday in cooler conditions with occasional showers. Margie Wright(27) continued her good form from last week’s Murrindindi Masters win to post nett 72 and win again from Cindy Armstrong(35) second on nett 77 in the Ladies. In the Men for their first Monthly Medal of the year the winner was Brian Simmons(12) with nett 69. He was also NTP on the 2nd. Runner-up on nett 71 on CB was Tony Rule(19) from third Phil Armstrong(21). Fourth on nett 72 was John Phillips(21) from fifth Bill Dredge(20) also on CB. Putting was shared by Allan Coates, Brendan Chenhall and John Phillips with 28 putts. Rod McCallum, a visitor from Queensland, took out the Club Award.
Wednesday sees a 4 Ball Best Ball team event being played for the first time in Gender Challenge. Pairs of girls versus boys! Best teams will score points. Individual scores will be recorded for handicaps. Remember bring a plate if you can and tee-off is still 7:00 – 7:30
