Saturday saw 19 teams of two play the annual Jack and Edna Baynes Canadian Foursomes at Royal Yea. It was so good too have Mornington GC visitors as well as members of the Baynes family from Melbourne, along with friends from Marysville and Gardiners Run Golf Clubs attend. Winners of the day were Greg Clements and Faye Langlands with nett 66.5. Second with a nett 67 were Steve Rumney and Judy Newman followed by Bob Glenister and Sandra Bate with nett 67.5. Fourth were Darrell Prior and Deborah Wrigley( who had best gross score of 84) from fifth Di Holdsworth and Ken Bate both with nett 69. NTP’s were awarded on all par 3’s. Golf was followed by a fabulous arvo tea in the Clubrooms.
There was also a stableford event conducted for those not in foursomes. Winner with 37 points was Malcolm Bett(23). Second was Bill Dredge(18) with 35 from Rob O’Halloran(17) third with 33 points.
Our pennant boys continued our recent club success by winning their last round of pennant on Sunday defeating Seymour 3/2 to finish on top of the ladder. Well done to Jonathon Fisher, Kevin Coghlan and Rick Wills on their wins. The team will play Eildon in the final.

Many thanks to the Baynes family for this event. Special thanks to Kay and Barb for their continued support for golf at Yea.
