Wednesday 1st November, a little rest from the championships, the playoff for one of our members to represent our club at the State finals of the silver spoon, the main event for the day.
Golf Australia Silver Spoon was first played in 1921. Each club playing several games of either stroke of stableford to qualify for club playoff, winner, then going onto the State Finals.
Eleven girls came to play the days event, but only two of those who qualified got to playoff for the Silver Spoon. Adrianne Anglin (12) and Sharon Grogan (30). The pair, obviously struggling a little today, but there had to be a winner. Today, Adrianne Anglin the winner, 28 points from, Sharon 26 pts. Well done girls. Adrianne will now go to the finals on the 20th November. We wish you all the best for a successful day.

Tuesday, Cup Day, we held a super fun day! Loads of people came from near and far, to enjoy, a new game, food, entertainment, pretend betting, of a sorts. Fashions, novelties, opening of our new practice grounds for putting , driving etc and of course the great companionship, both from fellow golfers and their families. This, also being, a very special day, further celebrating, our 100 years centennial. An Absolute wonderful day! Many many thanks to those who helped make this day such a success!!!
Which brings us to the following day Wednesday 8th, the last day of our Championships. A big ask after such a busy day Tuesday. But we came and some conquered. Our daily winners announced first. What a spectacular day it was for Adrianne Anglin (11), having her best score ever, 78 off the stick, equalling our past, long standing A grade Champion Laraine Callander. I am sure Adrianne will work on surpassing her latest milestone. Congratulations on such a fine score! Having several outstanding days most certainly earned her, not only the Title of, A Grade Champion, but also winning the Handicap Trophy as well. You are on Fire!
C Grade Champion for 2023, Di Elliott and our D Grade Champion Judi Newman, both clear winners. Moving onto B Grade, a different story. After working my way to having a lead, only to have it whisked away again on the final day. Only takes one to have a good day to change the outcome. This year Winner Jo Clayton, winning by 1 stroke. Congratulations Jo, you played a great last game. Well done to all those that participated, and a Big congratulations to the Winners.
Wednesday another playoff, this time for the Gold Medal. All those that have won a monthly medal over the season will have a chance for the gold. Best of Luck everyone. Keep up the great golf!!
