A strong field of 105 golfers from four Golf Clubs in the Murrindindi Shire hit off early at Yea Golf Club on Saturday to beat the forecast heat in Round 1 of the 2023 Murrindindi Masters.
The course was in the ‘best ever’ condition with its irrigated fairways, manicured greens and cared for ‘roughs’ thanks to the hardy volunteer Member efforts at Yea.

Russell Wealands (24) from Yea GC carded an excellent score of 43 points for the Men and Helen Findlay (Alexandra GC) a fine 39 Points for the Ladies to take out the overall ‘Yea Mini- Masters‘ and a $250 voucher kindly donated by the Reddrop Family and their chain of Foodworks stores.
All four Clubs sincerely thank the Reddrops and Foodworks for initiating and generous sponsorship of this fabulous competition.
Gary Pollard (13) 40 pts from Yea and Mim Page (22) 37pts from Marysville GC were the winners in A Grade closely followed by Runners up – Anthony Coleman (5) 37pts and Rebecca Lee (23) 35 pts.
B Grade winners were Rob O’Halloran (19) 35pts and Di Elliott (27) from Travers Stowe (16) 35 pts and Jan Wealands (30) both on countback.
Tony Rule (20) led in C Grade with 37 pts on countback from Michael Sheather (30) both from Yea.
