Wet and heavy conditions greeted 16 men and 3 women who ventured onto Royal Yea Golf Club on Saturday. Jen Keast had an exceptional round winning the Ladies Par Event with a score of -7. Jen also won NTP on the 2nd hole and duly made her first ever birdie. Well done Jen.
The Men contested the second round of the 54 hole points event. Winner was Wayne Rowe with a score of plus 1 on a countback from John Tanner. Third place went to Brendan Chenhall on countback from Mic Spagnolo , both finishing at even. There was no winner of the NTP in the Mens event and Jeff Aurisch was clear winner in the Club Award.
Points for the day went 10 – Wayne Rowe, 9 – John Tanner, 8 – Brendan Chenhall, 7 – Mick Spagnolo, 6 – Kevin Coghlan, 5 – Tony Rule, 4 – Peter Johnston, 3 – Phil Armstrong, 2 – Brian Simmons and 1 – John Phillips. So after 2 rounds the equal leaders are John Tanner and Kevin Coghlan with 16, followed by Mick Spagnolo 12, Brian Simmons and Wayne Rowe with 10. Next Saturday is the final round with stroke & putting.
