Wow what a change in the weather! Weekend of rain, hail, snow in some places, wild winds you name it we got it to an absolute glorious day complete with sunshine! Just so us golfers could enjoy ourselves. Isn’t it wonderful to get a day you ask for. Thank you thank you! but, today is another story.
Today Wednesday 17th November was the last day for the Championships and the First round of the Mona Clark stableford event. So for those that could actually play the three rounds for the Championships (different set up this year due to Covid) all but one grade it is all over red rover and no one is getting to know the results until Presentations at our Xmas Breakup being held at the Mandalay course this year. Curiosity may kill the cat, love it my lips are sealed. Will be a nice surprise for the day.
In conjunction with the Championships another competition allowed 15 Ladies to get another slice of the pie, well at least the first round dun n dusted for the Mona Clark 36 hole stableford. A much sort out event as Mona not only played for more than 50 years was a past President and a Life Member. The first Shield awarded by Mona was in 1984. I have been told that Mona was wonderful Lady full of life.
Today strutting her stuff Vicki Clements (24) had a great day out with 35 points. The course although picturesque was a little tricky in places. Well done Vicki a good start to the competition. Runner up with a score of 32 was Doreen Lehmann (33) go girls. Another momentous occasion our newly elected Captain, the AGM having been held the previous night, Jan Wealands had a top NTP but alas no Birdie. Much jovial banter about it in the Club rooms after. Next time Jan!
AGM! Congratulations to all taking on positions for this year and a BIG THANK YOU to all who have worked the past year! Has been a wee bit stressful at times I am sure. We will all look forward to a much better year and playing lots of Golf! Happy Golfing All !!!!
