Weather warming Golfers Returning!

Oh so nice to see the people returning out of lockdown (Regional), the course drying out a little and just sometimes a wee glimpse of Sun to warm the soul. Just to enjoy the challenge of the little white ball and chat a while with friends is just down right enjoyable.

Saturday 14th August 13 young Ladies strutted their stuff to compete in a round of Stableford. Today’s shinning star Meryl Connell (26) having 32 points taking the claim to fame. Congratulations Meryl. Gobblers for the day Meryl, Sharon Grogan & Vicky Butler with Margie Wright showing of with a Birdie. Go Girls!

Wednesday a very busy day. Lots to win! The day being pleasant even though no sunshine. Overcast but thankfully no rain and not too cold. I for one was very pleased to be out and about enjoying the day. Firstly three girls qualified to be in a play off for the winner of the Silver Spoon earning the right to go and play in the finals at the Gardners Run Golf Course on the 22nd November. Judi Newman(48), Sharon Grogan (42) and Vicki Clements (23) went out to battle. The victor for the day Vicki Clements. Congratulations Vicki enjoy playing in the final and we wish you luck!

Not only the three girls but another seven had the chance at another Monthly Medal. Today Penny Britton (42) and myself (22) both coming in with a 78 but, alas I was pipped at the post on the dreaded countback Penny winning the Medal and the money. Congratulations Penny Job well done see you in the Gold Medal playoff with the other winners for the season. Putting was also up for grabs 29 putts winning the day both Miranda Gill and myself in another countback this time I could claim the win. Four Ladies all managed a gobbler Miranda Gill, Judi Newman, Adrianne Anglin and Di Holdsworth. Well done Ladies.

Next week we will be having an early start 8.00 for 8.30 as we will be joining the men for our Anti Cancer Fund Raiser- 3 Person Ambrose. Please come and join us for this special day more the merrier and more funds raised for such an important cause.
