Close Battles

Wednesday 5th April. Wow what a beautiful Autumn Day, and to top it off we were out there, basking in the sunshine, playing golf. How good can it get!

Eleven girls took advantage of the day, many just returning from a golf trip, to try their luck.

But firstly, Monday 3rd. Nine ladies, travelled to the Heritage Golf Club to compete in their Ladies Invitational day. What a magnificent course. and oh what a different course than we are used to playing on. Way to hard for many, especially me. But we do have one story of success. Di Elliott scored a nearest the pin. How she managed to keep the ball on the green most certainly was excellent work. Well done Di.

Ok back to home news. The second Monthly Medal and putting the competition for the day. What an exciting day it was. The competition was in full swing, with many a close battle. Whilst partaking of a lovely lunch, we all awaited the Captain’s announcement who had won the countbacks. Sharon Grogan (30) having a nett score of 73 along with last month’s medal winner Penny Britton (36) also on 73 nett. As luck would have it Sharon was the winner today, also having her very first Birdie. Very pleased with herself, she also added a gobbler to her great day out. Congratulations Sharon and well done Penny. Nearly a back to back medal win.

Next competition, who had won the putting? Much bantering, a couple of us on 30 then Miranda Gill having a 29 putting dash to another countback. But alas her reign was short lived. Sitting quietly, not saying a word, the real winner of the day, who pipped us all, a great 28 putts was, Cindy Armstrong. Clever girl. Congratulations!

Golfing next week may be a little quiet with School Holidays and Easter. So until we are all back on the course wishing you all a Safe and Happy Easter!!
