Friday night saw 13 teams of 3 play a 9 hole Ambrose with the winners being Club President Gary with new members Stuart and Khia with 30 1/6 nett score. There were around 46 people at the dinner who enjoyed a superb meal with a great social atmosphere.
Six men travelled to the Western District for the first weekend of Cobden’s Golf Week on Friday as well. Golf with 9 holes social on Friday, 18 holes stableford on Saturday and 3 Person Ambrose on Sunday saw no real success for our group. Only 3 of 93 players on Saturday broke their handicap! Fast greens and tree lined couch fairways were a test for all. Thanks to John Tanner for organising a ”Botchy” tournament on the motel lawns on Saturday morning for all six Yealiens. In a gripping grand-final Jeff Aurisch was able to defeat John Tanner 5-4!!
Cobden Golf Club were very hospitable and have promised to attend our corporate day in October later this year.
