Gender Tussle

Round six of the Gender Challenge saw 35 golfers on the course with the Men taking all the points with Gary Pollard(12) leading the way with nett 66. Martin Lowe(17) showed that his shoulder is fine and had a nett 67 for second. Third on CB was Mic Spagnolo(7) from fourth Mic Willis(13) with nett 70. Fifth was the barman Mic Sheather(34) with nett 71. Best of the Ladies were Penny Britton(42) 73, JudiNewman(48) 73 and Margie Wright(26) 75. The Men won the team average with 73.9 to the Ladies 76.9. The NTP for the Men was Mic Sheather and the Ladies was Sue Aurisch. The putting was won by Gary with 22 putts!! Club Award winner was Neil Ross who collected $10.

The scores after Round 6 are Men 265 – Ladies 245. With two rounds to go the competition couldn’t be closer. Next Wednesday is a par event with 85 points up for grabs. The following week it is individual stableford matches worth 10 points per match available plus the usual 85 points.

Friday morning saw several members out at the course poisoning the “couch runners”invading the greens. Our course relies on our volunteers and this working bee reinforces this. Sometimes however, the dog isn’t much help out there.
