Saturday saw 28 players contest a Stroke & Putting round for the Monthly Medal. The afternoon players copt the rain which although wetting them certainly didn’t dampen their spirits. It was also the playoff for the Gold Medal Board Event with the best result of the Monthly Medallists from 2020 taking out the trophy.
Winner of the day on CB was Darwin Visitor Mick Willis(13) with nett 70. He had 36 on the last nine to win the Countback from second Gary Pollard(12). Third with nett 71 on CB was Wayne Rowe(12) from fourth Ken Whitfort(8) and fifth Bill Dredge(18). Mic Sheather was NTP on the 2nd and John Phillips won the putting with 24 putts. Chris Smith took out the Club Award.
BIll Dredge won the Gold Medal with nett 71 from Russ Wealands and Mic Spagnolo both 72 with Greg Clements on 74.
Cooring is being done on Monday/Tuesday so the course will be closed for play. Wednesday sees the men play stableford while the ladies are at Yering for their Xmas breakup. Next Saturday sees the Club Men’s/Mixed Foursomes being held. There will be a stableford competition as well for those not in a foursome.
