Wednesday saw the annual Anne Baynes International Stableford Event played at Royal Yea. Inaugurated by Peter and Adianne Anglin 2 years ago on the Club trip to New Zealand. Anne (Adianne’s Mother) was then remembered by the Wanaka Golf Club with a seat over looking the course for her work and commitment to the Club.
29 participants took part this year, with the Winner being Peter Johnston(15) on CB from Vicki Clements(21), Cheryl Roberts(29), Adrianne Angli(19) all on 37 stableford points. Second for the men was Jeff Aurisch(15) with 36 followed by Alan Pell(9) on CB from Carl Maffei(24) with 35 points.
Nearest the pin for the men was Bob Glenister on the 2nd and for the Women on the 11th was Di Holdsworth. Club Award winners were Di Elliot for the Ladies and Ivor Brayley for the Men.
Golf was followed by a sumptuous meal provided by the Ladies. This was the payout for coming second in the annual Gender Competition held over the summer.
