Hot, hot, hot and even hotter …..that was today’s story for 12 Ladies tackling 16 Men in one of the closing rounds of the Club’s Summer Gender Challenge.
The Ladies brazenly (and UNASHAMEDLY mind you) swept up the 42 available weekly points narrowing the Men’s previously unassailable lead of 72 to a mere 30 points with just 3 weeks remaining before one gender has to don the aprons and serve a delicious lunch to the other!
Vicky Clements (23) carded the day’s best stableford round with a fine 38pts to win the Ladies event from Laraine Callander (14) with 36 pts on countback from Di Holdsworth (22). Vicki Butler came fourth.
Peter Johnston (15) led in the Men with 36 Pts. Bruce Kindred (30), Bill Dredge (22) both with 35 pts and Peter Williams (23) filling in the minor placings.
Miranda Gill was NTP on the Second Hole and, taking pity on some of our struggling male golfers …..Di Elliott even took out the Club Award…..completing a fine day for the Ladies!
Well done Girls!!
PS: Happy Valentines Day from all us blokes!!
One for the Diary: The Club will host its first ‘9 and Dine’ on the evening of Friday 13th April 2018.
It’s loudly rumoured that about 14 Mornington GC Members have already booked in for this fun event so be sure to put your name down and book your spot when the flyer appears in the clubrooms next week.
