Thursday saw 84 veterans attend Broadford GC for the annual Christmas 4 person Ambrose and lunch. The golf was short lived by the thunderstorms and play was abdoned after 7 – 8 holes had been played!
During the ppresentations the outgoing President of Dalhousie Vets, Tom Fenton (Broadford) announced a special presentation for 25 years of outstanding service to Dalhousie Vets by our own Bruce Kindred. He mentioned that Bruce was President from 2001-2003, Secretary/Treasurer from 2004-2011 and Yea’s Delegate from 1992 – 2016. Bruce was warmly applauded by all and for those who know Bruce well, quite speechless on being awarded the award.
Bruce also won in the yearly raffle, a leg of ham, saying that in 25 years he usually only wins a tin of biscuits! ……… “I know which Award Jenny will prefer!”
