Perfect Summer Day in Marysville

The first round of the annual Foodworks Murrindindi Masters was played in ideal conditions on Saturday. The course was in excellent shape and consequently some good scores were recorded. Eighteen Yea players travelled to Marysville for the event and all enjoyed the day. Di Elliot was the only Yea player to finish in the winner’s circle however. Di’s 31 points won her 2nd place in the ladies B grade section. The mini masters winner for the ladies was Helen Findlay of Alexandra with a fine 39 points. Terry Chaplin and Rick Wills both had very good rounds of 36 points but neither was a trophy winner in their section. The star of the Dean was junior player Dean Malley of Eildon. Dean won the mens Masters last year and started of this year’s event in style with 42 points from his handicap of 11. The next round of the event is at Eildon on January 14th
