LADIES TAKE THE LEAD IN GENDER CHALLENGE
After 2 weeks without golf due to Races and wet weather 33 members and guests battled it out in Round 6 of the Summer Gender Challenge.
After the recent rain and the work of our amazing volunteer grounds crew the golf course was in excellent conditions which were reflected in the scoring
Anthony Coleman (5) first start back from his overseas trip played excellent golf to record 39 points. Di Holdsworth (30) continued her great recent form with 38 points to be the leading lady. It won’t be long before the handicapper takes a sharp knife to her handicap
Michael Spagnolo (7) 37 points and the ever improving Rob Gill (42) filled the minor placings for the Men
Sue Aurisch (36) and Cindy Armstrong (34) both recorded 36 points. Sue claiming 2nd in the Ladies on countback.
NTP on the 18th went to Martin Lowe – Men and Sue Aurisch- Ladies
Tom White was clear winner in the Club Award.
After Round 6 of the Summer Gender Challenge the points table under the pES scoring system stands at Ladies 220 and Men at 205 with 2 rounds to go
4BBB BRINGS OUT BIG NUMBERS.
40 Membets and guests competed in Saturdays 4 Ball Best Ball event. Despite the unprecedented January rain the course again presented in great condition and some excellent scores were recorded.
Seasoned veteran Bill Dredge teamed up with new member Jono Ness to post an outstanding 48 points taking top honours on the day.
Margie and Sam Wright were next best with a credible 46 points.
Third place was filled by the ever improving Rob Gill and another recent addition in Craig Blake with 43 points.
NTP on the 18th went to John Phillips – Men and no Ladies winner.
Club Award for the day went to stalwart Rob O’Halloran.
Individual winners in the Mens division were Jono Ness (25) with 41 points from Sam Wright (28) with 38 points.
For the Ladies Di Elliott ((28) led the way with 34 points nudging out Margie Wright (24) on 33 points.
Another great day for the Royal Yea Golf Club with wonderful contributions from our amazing volunteers in the kitchen and behind the the bar.
Wednesday Golf this week is Round 7 of the Summer Gender Challenge with a Stroke and Putting event to be contested. The Ladies currently have a slender lead with only 2 rounds left to play.
CHOOKLOTTO Martin cleans up again with $100 to add to his purse of $150 two draws back. Only three repeats left.
