Wednesday saw only 5 men venture forth. Cold and damp conditions didn’t deter these few brave souls from testing their game against the elements. Ken Whitfort (7) shone brightly to record a even par score to take the top honours. Brendan Chenhall (10) was in hot form taking out second place with -2. Mick Spagnolo won a close race for nearest the pin on the 18th. Gary Pollard came back to earth to take home the Club Award following his sparkling round at the “Heath” on Tuesday.
Saturday was listed as the Mixed 4BBB Championship, but with the current course conditions it was decided to defer that event to a later date. Stay tuned.
But on Saturday the rain stayed away and 15 men played a stableford round on improving course conditions. Winner on CB with 34 points was Phil Armstrong(19) from Jeff Aurisch(18). Phil had 20 points on the back nine to win the CB from Jeff who had 18. Mic Spagnolo(6) finished 3rd with 31 points. There was no winner of the NTP on the 18th and John Tanner won the Club Award with a Peter Somerville. In the Club Knockout Alan Pell defeated Carl Maffei.
In Chooklotto the poultry was won by Malcolm Bett, the stubbie holder to Kevin Coghlan and the gift bag went to Phil Armstrong.
