Another Successful Golf Day at Yea

What glorious weather to be playing our much loved game of Golf. The crisp cool mornings followed by the warmth of the much welcomed sunshine, all to soon the appearance of our beloved fog will begin our day on the golf course. So enjoy everyone before the Winter appears on our doorstep.

A wee birdie told me that we have had our last round of the Murrindindi Masters held at Eildon Saturday 27th March. Successful reports for Yea on the day were Cindy Armstrong winning B grade. Judi Newman winning a $100 prize drawn for just playing 2 out of three games. Quite an incentive to join in the competition. Eildon Ladies Mini Master Being Bec Lee from Marysville. Bec also winning the Major Master. Congratulations girls.

Wednesday the 31st being the last day of March, also the last Wednesday of Daylight Saving. Oh how the days will shorten not looking forward to it at all. Thankfully it was a superb day to play the Royal Women’s Hospital Fund raiser. For us Women a very important fund raiser. All proceeds for the day go to the hospital for purchase of equipment and training of Doctors especially for Women’s needs. At Presentations one of our Lady members gave a short speech highlighting the need for this very Specific Hospital having been a recipient of their special training herself. Both herself and her mother owe them their very existence. Without their expertise the outcome may have been different. Once again a very important fund raiser.

Sixteen players, Seven Teams of two, one individual and new comer Sharon Grogon completing her third card to acquire a Handicap enjoyed the lovely day. With the entry fees and the raffle money we are pleased to have raised $226.00 for the cause. Thank you to those who contributed. After completing our game we returned to the Club House for lunch and Presentations. What an awesome lunch. Thank you Ladies and a very BIG thank you from those of us that have food intolerances whom you also catered for. I am very proud to say we have such a bunch of very thoughtful Ladies. Thank you! I for one am so appreciative of your efforts.

Moving onto the results. Di Holdsworth took out the NTP, no reports of Birdies or Gobblers today. Runner up today after a countback Team Christine Simmons (23) and Penny Britton (42) claimed victory from Team Vicky Butler (35) and Regi Bell (30) both on 42 pts. Drum roll Winners Team Cheryl Roberts (27) and myself Karen Sangster (22) on 43 pts. Thank you partner think we complimented each other both stepping up to plate when needed. Enjoyable day of Golf!

In the days coming Plenty of Golf everywhere at home Saturday another 3 sticks and a putter day. Next Wednesday 7th we will be playing Match Play in preparation for Pennant commencing soon. Kick for the day the Losers have to bring afternoon tea Wednesday 14th when we hold our first round of the Kath Homewood 36 hole aggregate.
