Brian Simmons Wins CB

Wednesday saw 19 men compete in a stroke and putting event at Royal Yea. Morning conditions were fresh until the sun finally broke through around noon. Winner on a second CB with a nett 71 was Brian Simmons(11). Unlucky second was Ray Partridge(27) from third David Ngo(22) both with 71 nett. Fourth also on CB but with 72 was Alan Pell from fifth Bob Glenister(11). There was no NTP on the 11th and the putting went to another CB with Alan Pell beating Terry Chaplin with 25 putts. Michael Sheather won the Club Award.

It was pointed out to the Captain that there were 3 people in the CB for putting on Saturday not 2. It appears that after 3 CB the result may have been different. But alas, the result must remain after being announced. Reminder the second round of the Prideaux Cup is on this Saturday.

Winners of the first round of the Club Knockout on Saturday were Russell Wealands and Ray Partridge, while on Wednesday Brian Simmons and Ken Whitfort progressed to the second round.
