Saturday saw the last round of the Sichlau Trophy Event and the Monthly Medal contested at Royal Yea. Twenty four men participated in the stroke and putting, with the course in excellent condition following recent green scarrofying.
Winner of the Monthly Medal was Sam Wright(21) with a 69 nett. This was his second win in a row as Sam won the C Grade at the Murrindindi Masters last week. Second on Saturday was Michael Spagnolo(8) with a nett 70 from third Alan Pell(12) with 71 on CB from John Anstey(19). Fifth was Jeff Aurisch(16) with 72 on CB from Neil Peterson(15) and Greg Clements(17). Nearest the pin for 2 on the 10th was Kevin Coghlan and Michael Sheather won the Club Award.
Michel Spagnolo won the putting with 25 putts and he also won the Sichlau Trophy by four points. The Sichlau is determined by the best four rounds from six available medal rounds. Top ten results will be posted below. The next event of the year will be held next Saturday for the Gold Medal for men with a stroke round with the highest medallist of the year receiving the Gold Medal for 2019.
