Girly news Yea Girls Claim Victory!

Time for the girl news catch up and as usual many things have been happening. Nine girls ventured up to the Spring Tournament held in picturesque Myrtleford and Bright both courses magnificent and each with different challenges. We were all afraid of the weather forecast it certainly wasn’t reading like we were to have any pleasant golf and we were not disappointed. Myrtleford put on a display of many weather challenges rain, sun, wind, storms we certainly were entertained to say the least. On our little competition between ourselves first day Miranda Gill and myself shared the spoils. Jan Wealands also managed to get herself a NTP for her grade being the only one that got on I believe. A wee bit of a warm up and relax over dinner we all recouped and took on Bright the following day. Playing in the morning we could not have asked for a nicer day talk about a contrast certainly made for a much nicer game of golf. Jan had a good day and took home the spoils today. I managed to get myself a NTP and Miranda who also was on for her grade got pipped at the post. I’m sure we would like to return to better ourselves knowing a little about the lay of the course still a very pleasant time away.

Back home it was the last round of the Championships Oct 23rd. This year we have a new A Grade champion Adrianne Anglin winning her very first A grade Championship one very happy girl. B Grade Vicki Clements continued her form and one of our newer members Meryl Connell winning C Grade and also the Handicap division. I am sure Meryl will not stay in C grade for any length of time. Well done girls!

Oct 25th we had our Annual Corporate day another great success weather superb lots of people out having fun!

Thursday 31st our Isobel Bett Memorial another glorious day and lots of Yea girls the victors! Once again one of our Life Members Norma Tobias sponsored the event many thanks Norma. Lots of good scores Overall winner and grade winner after a count back was Margie Wright from another local Di Elliott both having a 68 nett. Winners are grinners so it wasn’t over just yet another in form local Meryl Connell stepped up for another grade win having a nett 70 then to top off the day Jan Wealands, Meryl and Margie won the small teams. All in all a top day! Many thanks to those who contributed to making it a great day especially those who make the course stay in tip top condition, outstanding effort for a small band of members! Happy golfing everyone!
