Spring has sprung or so they say only seeing a wee glimpse so far. Few of us wandered off to Avenel for their Tournament 22nd August. Sun was out but boy was it chilly they forgot to turn off the air con! sadly our only claim to fame was Vicki Clements securing a NTP. But the Food and hospitality wonderful as per usual.
Back home on the 28th we tried something new for a bit of fun. Not only having the usual daily winner we also added a team event called 2 person multiplier Stableford. Each went out to play their own game but were secretly put into teams of two. Upon returning to the club Teams were revealed and the counting began. Winner for the day on a count back went to Marj Gouldthorpe(33) having 34 pts from Di Holdsworth(22) also 34pts. The Team event won by Marj and Vice Captain Doreen Lehmann with 62 pts. Well done girls ! Last for the day was very exciting news for our newly appointed Vice Captain and new member Doreen Lehmann having her very first NTP May it be one of many to come.
September 4th Adrianne Anglin(15) celebrated the coming of Spring out of the fog by winning the Monthly Medal 71pts not happy with that had to add to the spoils by also wining the putting 26 putts. Meanwhile the runner up for the day a battle between Captain Vicky Butler(33) 77pts and little ol me Karen Sangster(24) 77pts. Just on the quiet I have been taking lessons from Jan Wealands and being an astute pupil won by the famous 1/2 a point sorry Vicky. Happy Golfing everyone!
