On the 18th Oct Royal Yea celebrated the Isobel Bett Memorial Tournament this year sponsored by our Lovely Norma Tobias. Norma gave a short story for those who did not know or for those who wanted to remember Isobel. A touching tribute! Thank you Norma. Forty one Ladies came to help celebrate and of course compete for the Trophy and although the day was a little damp at times, the course a little heavy the boys presented the course in top condition. Many thanks for all the volunteers tireless efforts. Norma had a wonderful time presenting the winners their trophy as equally as those who won them. This year Jenni Vennell (26) from Lancefield really enjoyed the course as she came in with a 69 Nett taking home the beautiful trophy, Jenni also won the C grade scratch. Congratulations! Other winners A grade scratch Gail Leigh (9) 83, A grade handicap Chris Doherty (18) 73, B Grade scratch on a 5 way count back Loretta Mathews (21) 97 .Our only local who had any fame was our Vicky Clements(23) 97 winning B grade Handicap. C grade handicap Wendy Gosden (32) 70 who also won the veterans. NTP Loretta Mathews, Sue Innes & Justine Collins. Teams event Heather Jenkins, Gail Leigh & Marg Fahey. Another special occasion celebrated two birthdays Adrianne Anglin & Gail Leigh both not only having birthdays but after today are both leading the Player of the year points on 21. With only 5 tournaments remaining and also a few other ladies scratching their way to the top should be quite an exciting time ahead. Good luck ladies!
