Club News

Spring has certainly arrived, at last, and our course is in great condition. In fact it has dried out very quickly and the watering season has started.

The first of the season’s major events was the Isobel Bett Women’s tournament last Thursday. A field of 56 took part and everyone enjoyed the course. We were all pleased at the number of compliments received about the day, both in the clubhouse and on the course. Well done to everyone involved.
Club championships start this week for women (tomorrow) and men (Saturday) so playing conditions should be ideal. The greens had a very light dusting of sand today but it has rubbed in very well and won’t effect play.

The next major event is the Trades and Corporate day on Friday October 27th. Entries look very promising so far so we should have a very successful day. Please make an effort to take part in the day, either by playing, or helping out in the clubhouse or on the course. Please contact me if you’re able to help.

The other major event coming up is the Murrindindi Masters. This year the 1st event is at Eildon on Saturday December 2nd, then follows Alexandra on Jan 13th, Yea on February 3rd. The date of the final event at Marysville is not known as yet.

At the committee meeting last week we discussed Saturday competitions for women, as quite often the numbers are low. The committee has decided that there only needs to be 2 players to make a competition and the scores will be entered into Golflink and also count for other women’s events held over the season such as the gobbler competition. If there is only 1 woman she is able to play in the men’s event and once again her score is valid for all women’s events.

Good hitting everyone
