Neil on Fire

It’s amazing what a few days without rain can do to a golf course. Following 25mm of rain on Tuesday Yea Golf Club was in surprisingly good condition on Saturday for the first round of the 54 holes points competition. Machinery operator, Rob Joseph, had done a great job on Friday in getting most of the fairways cut and, as usual, the greens were in very good shape. Neil Peterson was the winner on the day with 37 stableford points, with Martin Lowe, Kevin Coghlan and Rick Wills back on 32. Martin was also nearest the pin on the 18th. The 54 holes points event is played over 3 round- one each of stableford, par and stroke. 10 points are allocated to the winner of each round and then proceeding down to 1 point for the player in 10th position.
Rumour has it that Russ didn’t make it to golf because he was teaching his grandchildren the A,B,C,Dees!
