The second round of the Yea Golf Club Men’s Championships were held on Saturday and in all 3 grades the result is still in doubt. In A Grade, Gary Pollard now holds a 1 shot lead over Brian Simmons, Greg Clements leads B grade by 5 shots from Jonathan Fisher and in C Grade Malcom Bett leads Terry Chaplin by 3 shots. Greg is the leader in the handicap section with 143 from Malcom on 144 and Carl Maffei on 145.
Saturday’s winner was Cal Maffei with an excellent nett 69 from his handicap of 26. Carl won on countback from Greg Clements. In the grades Rick Wills won A grade with nett 73. Greg took out B Grade and Carl the C Grade. Jonathan Fisher won the daily putting and no one was nearest the pin on the 11th.
