Warm and calm conditions greeted the 33 Members who competed in the Stableford event on Saturday. Course conditions were excellent and combined with the beautiful spring weather, made for some exceptional golf scores.
Paul Heyen (27) led all comers in the Mens Division with 38 points. Chris Dunne (7) also had a great round with 37 points to finish in second place. Brian Simmons (13) survived a 3 way countback to take home third place on 36 points from Gary Pollard (13) and Andrew Bohn (7). Rob O’Halloran took out NTP on the 2nd Hole and recently returned home Jeff Aurisch collected the Club Award and the $10 Jackpot.
9 Ladies took advantage of the glorious weather and their scores also reflected the course conditions. Vicki Clements (24) continued her recent run of great form, recording 38 points , to take home first place. Cindy Armstrong (29) provided strong competition to record 36 points and claim second place on countback from Miranda Gill (19) Jan Wealands (29) completed the top four with a score of 35 points. There was no NTP for the Ladies.
Wednesday’s men’s golf saw 15 blokes play foursomes – alternate shots. Winners with a nett 67.5 were Zach Pell/ John Renehan(32.5) from close Runners – Up Neil Peterson/Rob O’Halloran(18) with nett 68. No NTP on the 10th for two and Allan Coates/Brian Priestley won the Club Award. In the second round of the ladies Championships Vicki Clements(24) with nett 72, Miranda Gill(18) nett 75, Sharon Grogan(24) nett 76 and Penny Britton(30) also on nett 76 were the best performances. The final round will be conducted next Wednesday.
