Girly news from Royal Yea

16th May Royal Yea Ladies held their yearly Challenge Bowl. Although a foggy start which continued for the larger part of the competition catered for 58 players from 16 different clubs. Great roll up for lots of fearsome competition for the much sought after Bowl. Once again RACV Healsville took the honours making it a back to back win for them. Local girls Adrianne Anglin(14) had the best score for the day 40 pts winning A grade also Jan Wealands (30) came in with 37 pts to take out C grade. Well done girls. Small teams were also a local win Adrianne Anglin, Marj Gouldthorpe and Laraine Callander.

After a day of competition all came in to partake of a great lunch, great company and much laughter all good for the soul. We also had the pleasure of life time members Norma Tobias, Barb Fisher, Myrna Patterson and birthday girl Betty Berkery joining us for the festivities.

Today Wednesday the 22nd May 10 Ladies found their way around in the fog to compete several challenges. A Monthly Medal, 2nd round of the Silver Spoon & putting. Again another close game with Jan Wealands (30) 72 nett and myself Karen Sangster (25) also 72 nett. But there had to be a winner and so on a count back Jan took the honours by half a point don’t get much closer than that! Congrats Jan you won the monthly medal and the silver spoon. Laraine Callander won the putting with a slick 26 putts and Cheryl Roberts claimed the NTP by a twig. Another great achievement for the day was our newest member Doreen Lehmann having her very first Par in her short time in golf. Well done may there be many more. Happy Golfing!
