Another good Gender Challenge Field

The 15th Green, like so many others looks an absolute picture!

Today’s beautiful autumnal morning drew 22 players to venture out early for another round of the competitive, (yet fun) Yea Golf Club’s ‘Gender Challenge’ before the heat of summer returned!

Di Holdsworth (24) played a great back 9 to lead the Ladies in with nett 70, just pipping new Ladies Captain, Vicky Butler (39) and Laraine Callendar(14) by 1 stroke. Vicky won the countback but, not to be denied Laraine won the Ladies Putting Comp with 28.

Veteran, Bruce Kindred (30) took charge of the course coming in with an excellent 69 to secure FIRST place for the Men. Peter Williams (25) was runner up with 70 and Peter Johnson (16) one shot further back on 71. Neil Peterson won the Men’s putting with 25 Putts (Hint: Neil cuts the greens!)

Not to be outdone, Marg Gouldthorpe was NTP on the 14th.

As a consequence, the Men extended their lead today scoring 27 to 15, and now lead by 80 points.

Sixteen Members are playing in a Guest Day at Mornington GC this Sunday. Tee times have been emailed around to those participating.

Saturday’s comp here at Royal Yea is Stableford with the Birdie Hole being the 13th.
